Mini Tour, Massive Blog
Fri 5 Jun, 2009
Hello,
Phew, so just finished the mini tour.
THE FIRST ONE WE HAD EVER DONE WITH A BUS!
It was so exciting, the stairs had disco lights, and apparently fallout boy had the bus before us, SO GOOD.
So after the gigs at Birmingham, and Bloomsbury ballroom, we set off in the ‘jumbocruiser’ (which is a coincidence because that is also Rob’s middle name) in search of adventure.
I woke up next to a church and a botanical garden in Glasgow in the blazing sunshine, bought a golden metal studded leather vest (every girl should have one)and hung out in a tropical green house with some pitcher plants looking for frogs.
Riotous gig at the Oran Mor, made some Glaswegian friends called Larry, Barry, and Garry, and a vicar called Dave.
Fun times ensued...
Woke up dressed in a five star costume, heart shaped sunglasses and a pair of platforms. I was very hot but it’s hard to be cross when you look like a 70’s Disco Admiral from outer space.
Next stop Manchester
Played in St Philips church, morbidly they hung my flower Florence wreath above the stained glass, and as the sun was setting, it felt more and more like I was playing at my own funeral.
But I didn’t know whether I was going to heaven or hell, smoke, pearls, and pulpits, crosses, cassocks and choir boys, that’s my kind of party.
From preaching on pulpits to promenading on piers, the last date of the tour was Brighton, We swam in the sea, SO FUCKING COLD.
Bought a massive broken snakeskin suitcase, USEFULL? not really, it wont even shut.
And played at Concorde 2, and the last time I went there I was 17 and had to sneak little sophie (sadsack) in the back way.
Then she was sick behind the door. Good times.
But a triumphant return, it felt like a gothic funfair in there.
The golden silvers were a dream as always, and we went out with a bang, a few bangs actually, and some crashes, well all sorts of loud noises really, and as far as I know no one was sick behind anything, eerrrrrm.
Thank so much to everyone who came, we had an amazing time, and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.
The next gig is in Lancashire, on the eleventh of June at the new arts center.
So maybe see you there x
